Students win High Honors in WordWright Competition
A team of students representing Archmere Academy recently won highest honors in this year's WordWright Challenge, a national competition for high school students requiring close reading and analysis of many different kinds of prose and poetry. Participating with 582 school teams from across the country, the school's eleventh graders tied for fifth place in the nation in the year's first meet, held in October.
Outstanding results were achieved by juniors Jonathan Lobo, Brian Zhang, Shing-Shing Cao and N'dea Tancey-Bragg, as well as seniors Melissa Cirillo and Julia Donovan. More than 58,000 students competed in the meet. The students were supervised by Stephen Klinge.
