Archmere Science Olympiad Teams place 2nd & 6th in State Competition
Archmere Academy sent two teams to the Delaware State Science Olympiad Competition on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Under the guidance of Mr. Glenn Hartman & Mr. Dmitry Gusakov, Archmere teams medaled in 18 of the 24 possible events. 27 of the 29 students earned individual medals in at least one event, and the Archmere teams were the state champions in three events.
Beth Burton '14 and Nick Costa '14 were the state champions in Dynamic Planet. Justine Zhang '14 and Edward Gomes '13 were the state champions in Chemistry Lab. Grace Fulda '15 and Tory Sylvestre '13 were the state champions in Gravity Vehicle.
The Archmere A team earned the second place overall trophy, while the Archmere B team finished 6th out of 60 teams at the competition. Congratulations to the members of both teams for a great performance!
