Archmere Senior and Crew Athlete Claire Orzel Commits to BC

On Thursday, November 14, Archmere Academy senior and Independence School alumna Claire Orzel of Newark, DE, signed her letter of intent to join the Boston College rowing team.
Claire has been rowing for the Wilmington Youth Rowing Association (WYRA) since 2011. She raced in the 2013 US Rowing Youth Nationals in Oak Ridge, TN, The Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA and multiple regional regattas where she finished amongst the top competitors in the region.

Claire played both varsity volleyball for Archmere and club volleyball throughout high school. Additionally, she served on the Leadership Council and Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay. During the summers she volunteers with the Appalachia Service Project through the Hockessin United Methodist Church. She is consistently on Archmere's academic honor roll and is a member of the National Honor Society and an AP scholar. At Boston College, Claire plans to major in Communications.
