As a Student at Archmere, Dick played football, basketball and ran track, earning eight Varsity letters and serving as Co-Captain of the football and track team his senior year. In his senior year, Dick set a school record at the time in the quarter mile and was a member of the winning 2-mile relay team at the Peninsula Relays his junior and senior year.

Dick attended St. Joseph’s University where he went on to play soccer and became the team's starting goalie mid way through his junior year and all of his senior year. He received two Varsity letters and was the first goalie at St. Joe's to score a goal. Dick also was a replacement Student Manager his senior year for the highly rated Hawks Basketball team.
Dick graduated from St. Joe's with a degree in Economics and went on to the National Installment Banking School at the University of Colorado's School of Business. Dick then worked for 36 years at Associates First Capital heading up the Company's Transportation Finance Division.
Dick has stayed involved in athletics having played on several YMCA basketball and softball teams. In the mid 90’s, he coached two 10-12 year old Basketball Championship teams.
Dick now lives in the Dallas with his wife Pamela and has 4 children, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
