Leah DaCosta '17 Leads Auks to Victory with Goal in Overtime

The Archmere field hockey team made headlines on Friday when they won a tight match against Mount Pleasant. Junior Leah DaCosta scored early in overtime, boosting the auks to a 3-2 win. The first half of the game belonged to Archmere, who scored two goals within a minute and 16 seconds. The first goal was claimed by Kennedy Murphy '16, who took a pass from Lorin Donovan '17 with 16:02 remaining in the half. On an Auks penalty corner, Presley Conaty '16 got behind the keeper, tapping it in for the 2-0 lead with 14:46 left. Mount Pleasant scored twice in the second half, forcing the game into overtime. The auks took the win when junior Leah DaCosta's overtime goal lifted Archmere to 3-2 over No. 6 Mount Pleasant.
