Archmere Students Earn Awards at Science Olympiad Competition

The Archmere Science Olympiad Team competed in the Delaware state meet on Saturday. Over a thousand high school students competed as their creativity mixed with formula and theory and covered just about every discipline across the science spectrum. Archmere's "A" team finished in 3rd place out of 60 teams. Medals are awarded to the top 10 in the state finals. The following students won medals:

  • Second Place--Disease Detectives for Hannah Palczuk and Jess Zbranak
  • Second Place--Write It Do It for Kathryn Slomski and Grace Zhang
  • Second Place--Air Trajectory for Madyson McDougal and Shreyas Parab
  • Third Place--Dynamic Planet for Becca Gomes and Anna Zdunek
  • Fourth Place--Fossils for Gillen Curren and Natasha Gengler
  • Fourth Place--Hydrogeology for Becca Lewis-Carpenter and Emily Lugg
  • Fifth Place--Its About Time for Greg McCord and Rahul Subbaraya
  • Fifth Place--Experimental Design for Alison Lobo, Taylor Tucker, and Lauren Yoslov
  • Fifth Place--Cell Biology for Becca Gomes and Anna Zdunek
  • Sixth Place--Robot Arm for Tori Falasco and Jess Zbranak
  • Seventh Place--Game On for Lewis MacMillan and Parker Vakili
  • Seventh Place--Astronomy for Greg McCord and Kathryn Slomski
  • Seventh Place--Experimental Design for Lauren Chua, Annie Martino, and Sarayu Sivarum 
  • Ninth Place--Bridge Building for Madyson McDougal and Shreyas Parab
