Boys' Lacrosse Advances to Semifinals

Archmere will move on to the semifinals after visiting Delmar in the quarterfinals of the DIAA Boys Lacrosse State Tournament Saturday afternoon. The fifth-seeded Auks claimed a 19-3 victory against the Wildcats. 

In the first quarter the Auks were able to tally up five goals and held Delmar scoreless behind great offensive and defensive play. They would never look back as they scored seven more goals in the second quarter to give them a 12-3 lead going into halftime.  

The News Journal writes that leading scorer Robbie Baxter '16: credited his teammates for his quick start with good passes to put him position to score. “I felt good. I saw a couple of openings and guys were making passes,” said Baxter, who had four goals and three assists. “They were making good skip passes that put me on the doorstep, and I put them in.”

After the break Archmere started their attack again, adding six goals in the third quarter and one final goal in the fourth.

Archmere’s scorers were: Robert Baxter '16 (4), Ben Revak '16 (4), Xavier Glavin '17 (3), Mitchell Moyer '19 (3), Connor Dennewitz '16, Cole Bauer '19, Patrick Udovich '17, David Dewees '18, and Nolan Collins '19.

Archmere will move on to play Salesianum on Wednesday evening for the semifinals.
