Mastersingers Place Second at the Festival of Gold

This past week the Archmere Mastersingers were in Chicago to compete in the Festival of Gold Competition held in Chicago’s Orchestra Hall. Festival of Gold is the most prestigious high school music competition in the United States. Competing against five other choirs, the Archmere choral group placed second in their division of the competition. All of the competing choirs also formed a massed choir that performed at the Encore concert in Chicago Symphony Hall and was accompanied by select members of the competing bands and orchestra.

While in the Windy City the students had the opportunity to visit the Art Institute and the Museum of Science and Industry, as well take an Architectural Boat Tour through the city.

The Festival of Gold is part of WorldStrides, who since 1967 has believed that performance travel does great things for students and their departments.
