Andrew Rosenbaum '20 Signs To Play Soccer At University Of South Carolina

Andrew Rosenbaum, senior at Archmere Academy, signed his National Letter of Intent to join the University of South Carolina’s soccer team on November 14, 2019. University of South Carolina is a Division 1 athletic program located in Columbia, SC. A varsity soccer player since he was a freshman, this fall Andrew was recognized as a 2019 USA Today Preseason All-USA soccer player and a High School All-American.
During his Archmere career, Andrew was named First Team All - Conference all four years, First Team All - State for the past three years, twice to the Top 11 High School Soccer Player list, and was Conference Player of the Year for 2019. Recognized as a leader by his coaches and peers, Andrew was named Captain of the Archmere soccer team both his junior and senior years. He was also named an All State All - American his junior year. 
 
Andrew’s soccer career began at an early age. His elementary years were spent playing with Concord Soccer, where he initially began playing and learning the game at the age of 5. In 2014, Andrew joined the nationally ranked Penn Fusion Soccer Academy, based out of West Chester, PA, and has been a starting midfielder and captain of the team ever since. In 2018, he led his Penn Fusion team to the National Finals. 
 
In addition, Andrew was selected to the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Regional team in 2016, the same year that he was selected for Generation Adidas to travel to the Netherlands and train at Ajax Academy, a world-famous youth academy known for recognizing and training the best soccer talent. Located outside of the Amsterdam Arena Stadium, Ajax Academy is the primary youth clinic of the Dutch professional soccer club, Ajax Amsterdam. 
 
Andrew was chosen to compete in the prestigious MIC Tournament twice. Beginning in 2016, he captained the GPS National Team and in 2017 Andrew played in the tournament with his Regional ODP team.  
 
Academically, Andrew excels in the classroom. He is a member of the Spanish National Honor Society and has received Cum Laude honors at Archmere.
 
Andrew is a resident of Wilmington, DE and a graduate of The Tatnall School. He plans to major in Business at the University of South Carolina next fall.
