Monthly College Counseling Update: April 2021

Class of 2021

Celebration season has begun! College enrollment decision deadlines are this weekend (5/1 or 5/3). We’re inviting seniors and the Archmere staff to wear college apparel on Monday, May 3rd. Our full College Decision Day celebration will occur on May 13th because of AP exams. Mrs. Reigner and Mr. Boehm will be available over the weekend if there are any last minute enrollment, financial aid, or waitlist conversations to be had.
Class of 2023

We provided sophomores access to CIALFO during C Day this week. As a part of the introduction process, we also delivered some messages regarding the college search process and some specific tasks they should be taking care of this year including discussing and deciding on their academic plan and figuring out plans for this summer. Students were assigned a worksheet with four different components due by May 14th. The assignment contains two personality/career assessments, adding activities to their resume within CIALFO, and researching a college of interest to become more comfortable with CIALFO. Both of the personality/career assessments provide the students with detailed reports and career resources to explore.

Thank you to Mr. Jezyk for coordinating another in-school SAT for juniors on Tuesday. This was the fourth in-school SAT that Archmere has administered in order to make sure students had access to a safe and comfortable testing environment.

We had an extremely successful Why Engineering? webinar last evening. Almost 60 computer screens signed onto our program which is a part of our Why? Career Series. A recording of the program will be posted on our YouTube channel in the next week. Our next program is being coordinated with other DAIS School on May 25th, a webinar on Gap Years. To register -
