The 125 Archmere seniors will be enrolling at 73 different colleges in 20 states, the District of Columbia, and the Republic of Ireland this fall. The Class of 2021 garnered over $16 million in scholarships.
Class of 2021 Valedictorian was Alex Lu, and the Salutatorian, Camron Kaiser. Alex will be attending The University of Pennsylvania to study Biomedical Engineering in the fall, and Camron is headed to Washington University in St. Louis to study Neuroscience/Psychology.
Alyssa Pierangeli received the Archmere Medal, the school’s most prestigious award, which is given to the senior whom the faculty believes best exemplifies the ideals and values of Archmere. The Activity Medal, the second-highest honor, went to Margaret Atkins. The Activity Medal recognizes service and participation.
Other departmental honors went to Alex Lu, Mathematics and Science; Alexis Rendel, English and Drama; Alyssa Pierangeli, Theology; Norah Prendergast, Chinese; Brian Carbajal, French; Christian Miller, Spanish; and Maura Smeader, History.
Also, Alex Jacobs, Computer Science; James D’Elia, Technology; Margaret Atkins, Art and Humanities; Anna Garcia, Christian Service; Paul Pomeroy, Instrumental Music; and Katie Yakovenko, Vocal Music.
Sanjay Long was recognized for excellence in boys athletics, and Bridget McGonigle won the award for girls athletics.
