Winter Track Team Sets Multiple School Records at the Armory in NY

Last weekend, the Archmere indoor track team once again traveled to the New Balance Track and Field in New York to participate in the 28th Annual US Air Force Hispanic Games at the Armory. Held over two days, teams from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland competed against the country's top high school track and field athletes at the world's premier indoor track and field facility.
Several new school records were set by our Auks from the Armory in NY:
  • Girls Shot Put - Alanah Weaver ’23 improved her school record by 4.5 inches with a throw of 32’ 8.5”
  • Boys 200m - Gavin Lee ’24 took down Will Robinson’s record that has stood since 2009 with a time of 22.97
  • Girls 400m - Maddie Priest ’24 lowered the school record to 1:01.56
  • Boys 800m - Julian Facciolo ’23 took down Coach Creekmore’s record that has stood since 2011 with a time of 2:05.49
  • Boys 4x800m - Julian Facciolo ’23,  Richie Angiullo ‘25 , Camilo Alvarez ‘24, and Nick Donelson ’23 broke the 2018 relay record by .05 with a time of 8:51.82
The Armory Foundation is a New York City non-profit institution, with the mission of “Keeping Kids on Track.” Each season The Armory – the proud home of the Millrose Games – hosts more than 100 track & field meets and welcomes more than 220,000 visits.
