Helen Qi '23 Recognized with "Best in Show" Award for Drawing

Archmere senior Helen Qi was chosen as one of three "Best In Show" award recipients by the Delaware Art Education Association (DAEA). Each year, the Executive Board of DAEA convenes at the Delaware State University's Arts Center Gallery in Dover, Delaware to choose the three "Best of Show" pieces from among the Scholastic Art Awards Gold Key winners on view in the exhibition.
Delaware State University’s Arts Center/Gallery (ACG) is an arts and culture educational resource that brings to the community a variety of events that promote excellence in the arts and humanities. Through exhibitions, performances and related program (Art Works for All, Scholastics Art and Writing Awards, National Arts Program and Congressional Art Awards) activities and accomplishments, the ACG promotes its role as a cultural resource for students and the DSU community.

Helen's pastel on black paper drawing "This American Life" was selected as one of three high school award recipients from among nearly seventy Scholastic Art Gold Key Awards, and will receive a cash award from the association in honor of her recognition. On Saturday, February 11, the Arts Center/Gallery, in partnership with the League of American Pen Women, the Diamond State Branch, announced the 2023 Delaware Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Presentation and winners virtually through their YouTube Channel.

To view all of the winners, more information about the Art center Gallery, and to access the Awards Presentation, visit the ACG’s website: artgallery.desu.edu (links can be found on the Home & Exhibitions pages).
