Track and Field Closes Out Spring Season with Top Finishes at DIAA State Championships
The DIAA Track and Field State Championships were held at Dover High School on Friday and Saturday, May 16th and 17th. Over two days, the Archmere team competed against close to 50 teams. The girls finished 2nd in Division II at the Championships, while the boys finished 14th, respectively. Highlights include an incredible race by the girls relay team of Alaina Thomas, Lyla Bell, Helen Socorso, and Riley Horsey, who not only won the Division II 4x800m relay, but they also broke the school record by 3 seconds. The record has stood since 2008 and was held by Jess Olsen, Erica Jackie, Emily Goggins, and Lindsey Olivere.
