Meredith Finger '26 Recognized for "Doing It All"

Archmere sophomore Meredith Finger loves both golf and softball, so she is finding a way to excel in both sports during the busy spring season at Archmere. An honors student as well, Meredith can carry drives 245 yards and comfortably hit a 7-iron 160 yards on the golf course, and at the same time is willing to fill any gap Archmere may have on the softball diamond.
She finished second among girls at the DIAA Golf Tournament last year as a freshman, shooting rounds of 72-71-143 at Baywood Greens Golf Club in Long Neck. She has helped the golf team record a 14-2 season in team matches this spring while finding time to help the Auks in softball.

Softball coach Dan Pisani states of Meredith, “She’s going to do what I need her to do in order to win games. Last year, it was catch. This year, it’s pitch. If it’s something else next year, she’ll do that too.” On the days both teams are competing, Delaware Online wrote that Meredith worries about softball during her golf match.

Her 1.7 handicap in Archmere’s nine-hole matches ranks sixth statewide among both girls and boys. Meredith will compete at the DIAA Golf State Championships May 28th and May 29th at Maple Dale Country Club in Delmar.
