Spring Athletes, Teams Earn Postseason Awards

Congratulations to all of our spring athletes who were named to the Diamond State All-Conference teams and the All-State or All-County teams. Many of our spring teams boasted winning records and playoff appearances; spring accolades also included a few State Championships!
The rugby team once again successfully took on Salesianum at Abessinio Stadium for the Rugby Delaware State Championship Cup, bringing the Mark Dombroski Cup back home to Archmere. The girls’ tennis team placed second in the state with individual championships by Valentina Ramos and Rebecca Wang in First Doubles and a Second Doubles Championship win by Lauren Nguyen and Jessica Li. The boys’ tennis team placed 4th overall, led by Charlie Rittereiser who brought home the Boys Second Singles Championship. The spring was highlighted by a back-to-back State Championship for the golf team, with sophomore Hannah Webb earning the girls individual crown as she scored a 1-over-par 71.

Individually, the track and field team had an incredibly successful season, marked by top finishes at the New Castle County Championships, DIAA State Championships and then again at the Meet of Champions. Several long-standing records were broken this spring, and to cap the season off, Helen Socorso, Riley Horsey, Lyla Bell, and Alaina Thomas all qualified to compete at the New Balance Nationals at the University of Pennsylvania.
