Football and Boys' Soccer Post Big Wins This Weekend
On Saturday, September 15th, Archmere football defeated Conrad at home. The Auks rushed for 340 yards, and the defense pitched a 49-0 shutout in the Diamond State Athletic Conference football win.
Archmere senior Evan Hernick led the Auks with 100 yards on seven carries. Seniors Devin Houston added 94 yards, and Cole Bauer 77. Archmere (1-1) travels to Tatnall next Saturday for a noon kickoff.
The Boys' Soccer team also had a big win on Saturday, as the sixth-ranked Auks took on Delaware Military Academy in a Diamond State Athletic Conference match. Archmere scored four second-half goals to earn the 5-1 win, and ended up with 12 shots and eight corner kicks in the game.
Archmere senior Will Schatzman lead the team with 3 goals, completing his hat trick in the 62nd minute. The Auks ended up soring four of their goals in a nine minute time span. Archmere (2-1) travels to Red Lion on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. before hosting No. 3 St. Andrew’s on Thursday at 4.
