Monthly College Counseling Update: December 2018

Underclassmen Meetings

The last month has found College Counseling working with the entire student body. Preliminary junior meetings are in full swing and 95% of the class has either completed or scheduled their meetings. The first of our two Junior Parent Nights had over 60 parents in attendance. The second parent night will be held on January 15th (to register click here).

In the final cycle before the holidays we talked with freshman about thinking outside of the box in regards to careers through the Six Lives Exercise. This Saturday, over 80 juniors and sophomores sat for a practice ACT exam.

Senior Update

Seniors have spent the last week receiving and reacting to college application decisions. There’s a few schools that have yet to release their early application decisions but for the most part they are out.  Some schools moved their early action round release date to after the New Year (Villanova, Northeastern, and Richmond). While we will be observing the Christmas and New Year holiday like the rest of the Archmere community, we will be accessible for necessary college conversations with seniors and their families. Please email us should you want to talk.
