Girls' Lacrosse Wins Diamond State Athletic Conference Championship

On April 17th, the Archmere girls' lacrosse team took on Newark Charter, winning 15-8 on Newark Charter's home field. With the win, the Auks clinched the Diamond State Athletic Conference championship and the state tournament bid that comes with it. It was Archmere’s final DSAC game of the season, and they finished 5-0. Newark Charter came into the game 3-0 in conference. 

Archmere was down by one with ten minutes left to go in the game, but that was quickly changed by senior Caroline Donovan, who scored with 9:30 remaining, the first of eight straight Archmere goals. Caroline Donovan '19 finished the game with a total of six goals to lead the Auks, while Kate Olsen '19 added four and Bridget McGonigle '21 three. Lindsey Nolan '19 also scored, and goalie Maura Smeader '21 had nine saves. Archmere (8-1) is off until April 27, when the team travels to Dover High School.
