Julian Iacono '19 Commits to Swim at Ithaca College

Archmere senior Julian Iacono has been accepted into Ithaca College’s Park School of Communication, where he will study Cinema & Photography, with a possible minor in History. Julian has been swimming competitively since the age of eight, and loved being a part of the swim team at Archmere. He was captain of the team his senior year, and was named DIAA First Team and Second Team All-State his junior & senior years. He placed 3rd in the 100 meter butterfly at the DIAA High School State Tournament. With his club team, the Brandywine Barracudas (BRY), he placed 3rd in both the 100 and 200 meter butterfly at YMCA Districts in March. Julian also qualified twice for the YMCA Short Course Nationals, where he achieved best times in all of his events this past April.

This summer will be the second time Julian has attended YMCA Long Course Nationals. Aside from training, Julian will be an assistant coach with his summer swim team, the Graylyn Crest Gators. He is really looking forward to swimming for Ithaca in the Fall, and credits Archmere for teaching him how to apply yourself fully in order to succeed, both inside and outside of the classroom.
