Archmere Students Earn High WordWright Honors

A team of Archmere students won high honors at this year's national WordWright Challenge, a competition for high school students requiring close reading and analysis of prose and poetry. Participating with 686 schools from across the country, Archmere's twelfth graders tied for sixth place in the nation in the year's first meet, held in October, among all teams competing at this grade level.
Students who achieved outstanding individual results in the meet included juniors Aislin Smeader, Brian Carbajal, and Ava Scarpaci; and seniors Grace Janvier, Lauren Simpson, Caroline Antunes, Madi Downey, Bella Magat, Jessica Pei, and Ciara Trigg. The students were supervised by English Teacher Mr. Steve Klinge.
