Beginning the week of February 10th, Archmere’s Winter Musical Chicago: High School Edition began working nonstop. “Tech-week”, as they call it, consists of running numbers and scenes with the specific light changes, sound checks, and quick set changes. Tech-week requires a lot of patience and faith in the show, but once opening night rolls around, it all becomes worth it.
On their days off, members of the cast and crew spent time painting prop pieces and the set, making costumes, and cleaning back stage. On President’s Day, everyone had an ELEVEN HOUR rehearsal. The dedicated cast and crew spent the day drilling down the tiniest kinks in their numbers with help from director Mr. Manelski, student choreographer Alexis Rendell ’21, choreographer Mrs. Thomas, and music director Mr. Damato. With their preview to the school at the assembly on Tuesday, the cast and crew wanted everything to be in tip top shape. Of course, the day would not be complete without a cast dinner from Mazzelas with the help of the cast’s wonderful parents.

The show dates for Chicago: High School Edition are February 21st, 22nd, 28th, and 29th at 7:30 pm in the theater. Come on out and support these hard-working students, faculty, friends, and volunteers!
