Art Advisory Group Learns About Modern Art Movements

On the September 29 Green Day, the Art Advisory group met and painted pumpkins inspired by different modern art movements. National Art Honor Society officers Jocelyn Zavala Garcia '22 (President), Bella Reeves '22 (Treasurer), and Helen Qi '23 (Vice President) each presented a slideshow to the group, providing an overview of key modern art movements and styles. The advisory group then painted pumpkins inspired by their artist/art movement of choice. The pumpkins were displayed in the Manor for the Archmere Open House.

Math Madness Kicks Off Season With Win

On October 28, the Archmere Math Madness team kicked off their season with a win, defeating their opponent in the tournament qualifier. They won their match 32-30 against Upper Dublin H.S. from Fort Washington, PA. The team score is composed of the top 5 players' individual scores. The top 5 scorers were Alexander Chen, Nick Zhu, Leo Chang, Sophia Chen, Joe Caruso and Gavin Nguyen. 

Archmere Teacher Mr. Matt Chominski Presents at Conferences this Fall

Mr. Matthew Chominski, Theology Department Chair and Teacher, recently presented at two conferences:

  • On October 13, Mr. Chominski presented at the 6th Bi-Annual International Conference, International Association for the Study of the Philosophy of Edith Stein. The paper was titled: "Education in a Time of Rectangles and Facelessness." 
  • On October 15, Mr. Chominski presented at the International Patristic, Medieval and Renaissance Conference, held at Villanova University. He presented a session titled, "'Heresy of the Heart'?: Francis of Assisi's Insight of Love into the Inner Life of Creatures According to Max Scheler". 
Mrs. Carly Pisani Receives Masters in Applied Technology in Education

On Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, Carly Pisani, of the Mathematics Department, graduated from Wilmington University earning a Master of Education degree in Applied Technology in Education.
