Kelsey Joyce '23 Wins Sargent Art Youth Month Contest

Archmere junior Kelsey Joyce won first prize and was recognized as the Best in State for the secondary (high school) level of the Sargent Art Youth Month Contest for her painting, "Luminous," a self portrait created in acrylic on canvas panel. Only student art featured during Youth Art Month was eligible for the competition. In the month of March, Kelsey's painting was on display at the Delaware Art Museum in a special exhibition.
"Luminous" was created in Mrs. Stephanie Silverman's Junior Portfolio 2D Design class. As the first place winner, Kelsey receives $500 worth of art supplies from Sargent Art, and Archmere's Art & Design Program wins $1,000 in supplies. Since Archmere is blessed with an amazing supply of art materials, Kelsey has spearheaded a donation of the school award to the Knollwood Community Center.

To see Kelsey's painting in person, along with over 500 works of student art and design, be sure to attend the Opening Reception for the Fifteenth Annual Fine Art Festival in the Patio, this Saturday from 1-4pm!
