Maile Gutsche '23 is National Second Place Winner in the MTNA Senior Voice Competitions

Maile Gutsche is the Second Place National Winner in the MTNA Student Performance Competition for Senior Voice. As one of six divisional finalists and representing the Eastern Region, Gutsche competed March 26 as part of the 2023 MTNA National Conference, held in Reno Nevada. She was awarded $1000 from the Jane Snow Memorial Foundation of MTNA.

Maile, the daughter of Oliver and Annie Gutsche, is a senior at Archmere Academy. Gutsche has been studying voice for 4 years and is a student of Mary Ellen Schauber.
Other awards for the soprano include First Place in the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing student auditions for classical treble voice. She has served as a soloist for school concerts, theater productions, liturgical services, sporting events, and various philanthropic fund-raising events. Maile practices kenpo karate, enjoys reading, and has a passion for learning many languages.
The three-tiered MTNA competitions begin at the state level. Winners of each State Competition advance to the Division Competition. Division Winners then proceed to the National Finals at the MTNA National Conference.
