Michelle Zhang ’24, Daniel Qi ’26 Perform at All-State Orchestra
Delaware Music Educators Association presented the All State Orchestra on March 9 at Milford High School. The concert was directed by James Allen Anderson, director of orchestral activities at the University of Delaware. Two students from the Helena Raskob Arts Institute auditioned and were were accepted into the orchestra.
Michelle Zhang ’24 was awarded second chair Violin II, and Daniel Qi ’26 served as Concertmaster. After three days of rehearsals, Dr. Anderson lead the group through Hansel and Gretel Prelude by Engelbert Humperdinck, Impromptu by Jean Sibelius, and concluded the concert with the Symphony No. 2 in C minor, Op. 17 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The concert was a rewarding experience for the students, their teachers, and the audience in attendance. Congratulations, Michelle and Daniel!
