Naviance is an online college search and organizational tool that Archmere utilizes to assist our students in the college search process. Over a number of years, we have increasingly integrated this software into our college counseling program. Naviance provides an excellent search engine, allowing students to easily generate a list of colleges that meet certain criteria, such as geographical location, majors and size of enrollment. It also provides access to a wide range of information about each college as well as numerous colleges.
Students receive a registration code in the spring semester of their sophomore year. Counselors instruct sophomores in small groups on how to use the program. We require each student to complete the personality inventory called "Strength Explorer" and the Career Interest Profiler as an initial assignment. Parents are given a registration code for Naviance at Parent Night in the student’s junior year. Naviance provides as easy way for students to keep track of applications, sign up for college representatives visiting Archmere, and research careers, colleges and scholarships. The College Counseling Office will use Naviance to submit application documents to almost all colleges and universities.
Naviance is also the main communication tool used by the College Counseling Office. We use Naviance as a resource site for our documents, links to commonly used sites, and other college application and financial aid resources.
