Seven Archmere Academy Students Named Candidates for U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

Seven students from Archmere Academy have been selected as candidates for the prestigious U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school seniors.
The recognition, awarded by the U.S. Department of Education, highlights students who demonstrate exceptional achievement in academics, leadership, and service, as well as excellence in the arts and career and technical education fields.

The Archmere Academy candidates are Kabir C. Goyal, Abby Leonardo, Darren Luo, Daniel Qi, Valentina S. Ramos, Kellyn Williams, and Audrey Zou.

Students are invited to apply for the program based on outstanding performance on the SAT or ACT, or through nomination by their state’s Chief State School Officer. The program, established in 1964 by executive order, has expanded over the years to recognize accomplishments in the visual and performing arts as well as career and technical education.

Each year, up to 161 graduating seniors nationwide are ultimately named U.S. Presidential Scholars. Recipients are honored with a Presidential Scholars Medallion in recognition of their achievements.

As candidates, the Archmere students must now complete a rigorous application process, which includes essays, self-assessments, academic records, and a Secondary School Report submitted by a school official. All materials were submitted by March 12, 2026.

Final selections for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program will be announced later this year.
