Girls Lacrosse Pulls Away to Defeat St. Mark's at Home
Archmere rode a dominant performance in draw controls to an early lead and never looked back, defeating Saint Mark’s 18-4 in girls lacrosse on April 14th in Claymont.
Ellie DeLuca '27 set the tone from the start, winning the opening draw and helping Archmere score within the first minute. The Auks controlled the next draw as well, quickly doubling their lead and building momentum that carried through the game.
By the end of the first quarter, Archmere held a commanding 7-1 advantage. Saint Mark’s briefly cut into the deficit, but the Auks responded immediately. Claudia Koch '26 finished a quick pass from behind the net by Annie DeLuca '29 at the 4:21 mark, and just 11 seconds later, Ellie DeLuca struck again after another draw win, racing in uncontested for a goal.
Archmere added three more goals before the quarter ended. Annie DeLuca found the net with an assist from her sister, while Claudia Koch closed out the period with two goals — one on a bounce shot and another placed into the upper left corner.
The offensive surge continued in the second quarter, highlighted by a shot from Annie DeLuca that deflected off the post and in, along with free-position goals from Sarah Dahms '26 and Giada Giordano '28.
Claudia Koch led all scorers with six goals, while Annie DeLuca added five.
