Archmere Track & Field Athletes Win Big at Delaware Meet of Champions

The Archmere track and field team delivered an outstanding performance at the Delaware Meet of Champions, competing against the top runners, throwers, and jumpers from across the state in one of the season’s most prestigious events.
The Meet of Champions brings together the best performers from the DIAA State Track & Field Championships for a head-to-head showcase of Delaware’s elite track and field talent. Archmere athletes competed on Wednesday, May 20th at Abessinio Stadium, ending the day with multiple podium finishes, All-State honors, and strong performances across a variety of events.

Leading the way was Marlise Harris, who captured the Meet of Champions title in the 300-meter hurdles with a winning time of 46.37 seconds, earning All-State recognition. Harris also placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.02.

Riley Horsey earned a second-place finish in the 1600-meter run, crossing the line in 5:04.26, while Josh Cox took second in the shot put with a throw of 52 feet, 10 inches.

Kindred Ballard turned in a strong showing in the field events, placing fourth in the shot put and sixth in the discus. Alaina Thomas added a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run, and Khaleef Wilson placed sixth in the 200-meter dash.

Archmere also received top-10 finishes from Aidan Mahon in the 1600 meters, Molly Felice in the 3200 meters, and Owen Parsons in the 3200 meters.

In addition, Coach JR Creekmore was recognized as the All-State Meet Director, highlighting his leadership and dedication to Delaware track and field.
