Baseball Team Picks Up Win at Concord

On April 7th on the road, the Archmere baseball team was tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, and the Concord Raiders had the bases loaded with nobody out. In a thrilling back and forth battle, the Archmere team cemented the win with a score in the seventh inning, leaving with a 4-3 victory.
After falling behind through the first three innings, Archmere mounted a timely rally in the fourth. Silas Aulick ’27 sparked the offense with a leadoff single, and Brecken Kessler ’27 followed with a double down the left-field line to put runners in scoring position. Luke Luzader ’28 then delivered a sacrifice fly to center, bringing home Aulick and cutting into the deficit.

The momentum carried into the fifth, where Archmere seized a 3–2 lead. With two outs, Reece O’Halloran ’28 worked a walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Kevin Fox ’28 then came through in the clutch, lining a go-ahead single to center to cap the rally.

With the bases loaded in the sixth inning, Shane Harding ’28 came up big on the mound, snaring a sharp one-hopper and firing home to start a crucial 1-2-3 double play. Moments later, Luke Luzader capped the defensive stand with a full-extension, sprawling grab on a popup drifting between first and second, preserving the lead with a highlight-reel finish to the inning.

Nick Schwartz '26 set the tone in the Auks’ half of the seventh, legging out an infield single to reach base. Though the next two hitters went down on strikes, Schwartz aggressively took matters into his own hands, swiping second and third during the at-bats to move into scoring position. Kevin Fox then delivered once again, lining a clutch single to left to bring him home.

In the bottom half, Shane Harding faced a brief moment of adversity after hitting a batter with one out, but the right-hander quickly regrouped. He slammed the door with back-to-back strikeouts, sealing the victory in commanding fashion.
