Archmere Advances to DIAA Girls Lacrosse Semifinals with Win Over Tatnall

Archmere's girls lacrosse team continued its postseason run in impressive fashion, defeating Tatnall 10-7 in the DIAA quarterfinals to advance to the state semifinals for the first time in several seasons. The Auks entered postseason play ranked among Delaware’s top teams, with quality wins throughout the season over Wilmington Friends, Sussex Academy, Newark Charter, Wilmington Charter, and Caravel Academy.
The fifth-seeded Auks entered the tournament after an outstanding regular season that included a Diamond State Athletic Conference championship and an 11-4 overall record. Archmere earned a first-round bye before facing Milford High School on Thursday, May 21st at home. The team defeated Milford 13-8, setting up the match against fourth-seeded Tatnall in the quarterfinal round on a very rainy Saturday morning, May 23rd.

Against Tatnall, the Auks relied on balanced play and a strong defensive effort to secure the victory and punch their ticket to the semifinals. Senior Claudia Koch led the offensive play with 4 goals, while junior Ellie DeLuca recorded 3 goals and 2 assists. Junior goalie Mia Luce made 11 saves. The win marked another milestone in an already successful season for an Archmere squad that has consistently competed against the state’s top programs.
