Football Team Sails Past Mt. Pleasant on Homecoming

The Archmere football team scored five times in the first half on the way to a 48-6 win over Mount Pleasant in Class 2A District 1 football on Saturday's Homecoming game. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Auks this season.
The win was due to outstanding efforts by the entire team, with senior captain Michael Donovan leading with 197 yards rushing and one touchdown on only ten carries. Michael's longest rush was for an incredible 97 yards. Fellow senior captain Noah Blessington was in the mix as well, providing Archmere Academy with two scores. Archmere, now with a 4-2 record, heads to Laurel on October 18th for a noon kickoff.

AuksSports game highlights include:
  • Michael Donovan rushed 10 times for 197 yards and a TD.  He also had an interception on defense. 
  • Noah Blessington had 31 yards rushing and 2 TDs.  
  • Ryan Hagenberg 26 yards rushing, 28 yards receiving and scored 2 TDs.  He also had  a sack on defense. 
  • Johnny Orsini threw for 74 yards and 2 TDs and rushed for 61 yards and 2 TDs.
  • Jack King had two interceptions on defense.
  • Justin Hartman led the defense with 7 tackles.
