Soccer Opens Season with Win over Caravel
On September 12th, the Archmere soccer team defeated Caravel 5-3 on the road in their season opening match. Brendan Quinn '27 and Ethan Beach '26 each scored two goals, and Tiernan Matthews '26 added another, leading Archmere to a 5-3 win over Caravel in the Auks’ soccer opener.
After applying pressure for the first few minutes, the Auks struck in the seventh minute. Oliver Hohman '26 sent the ball toward the Buccaneers’ net, and Brendan Quinn '27 was there for the tip it in. The lead stayed at one goal until the 14th minute, when the Auks lined up for a corner kick. Brendan Quinn '27 inbounded the ball into the 18-yard box, and Ethan Beach '26 headed it in. From then, Archmere barraged the net, outshooting the Buccaneers 15-3.
