Science of Everything Visits Episcopal Academy for Learning Focus

On October 16, the Science of Everything class visited the Center for Teaching & Learning at Episcopal Academy as part of The Science of Learning focus. The CTL supports the work of teachers and students to put evidence-informed insights into practice and test the efficacy of interventions in the classroom designed to improve student outcomes. CTL leaders Justin Cerenzia and Allison Schultz led the class through a Science of Learning Jeopardy game, giving an overview of CTL projects, and brought in Andrew Shimrock, a Spanish teacher, to discuss his ongoing research in his current classroom.
The class continued on to Longwood Gardens on October 16 after visiting the CTL to take part in a guided program called Benefits of Nature. This part of the field trip reflects the Science of Wellbeing focus in SOE, where they learn insights from positive psychology and the study of human flourishing (including as the cognitive, physical, and social benefits of being in nature).
